What you need to do.

You will need to set up a second form of authentication, such as SMS or an authentication app on your smartphone or tablet.

Why is mfa important?

Without multi-factor authentication (MFA), cybercriminals can much more easily gain access to a system and the data held withing that system.

Cyber Crime Concept with Hacker

80%

of data breaches can be prevented by enabling multi-factor authentication (mfa).

90%

of healthcare organisations experienced a data breach from 2017 to 2020.

99%

of accounts compramised by cyber attacks can be blocked by MFA.

What happens next?

To ensure your emails stay safe and secure, we will start enforcing enrolment of MFA in the coming weeks.

  • Small groups will be enrolled onto MFA, enforcing them to select an MFA option.

  • The 2 preferred methods of MFA are via SMS or the Microsoft Authenticator App.

  • Both can be accessed either via a work managed mobile phone, or via a personal mobile phone.

  • Once enrolled, you will only ever be prompted for you MFA details when accessing your emails via the web, on a non managed device such as a personal phone, tablet or computer.
